Our pond is approximately 15' x 25' with a 3 foot average depth totaling approximately 7900 gallons. Filtration is accomplished by a 300 gallon gravel bio filter fed by four aeration feed towers. The filter gravity flows to a waterfall which returns to the main poind at the rate of 2000 gph in the fall and winter. The flow rate is increased to 4000 gph in the spring and summer. We have also added a bog/bio filter that filters approximately 1000 gph year round. This setup keeps the water crystal clear year round. We keep 50 to 60 koi ranking in size from 6" to 20". The majority are 14" - 16" in size.

We have many kinds of koi, everyone has their own favorite varieties. And yes, every single fish has it's own name. Cinco, Spam and Mutt to name a few. We also have four goldfish (because I haven't been able to catch them yet). The pond is surrounded by decks, flagstone and flower beds. It even has a bridge (my favorite viewing place). Lighting has been added to enhance the ponds enjoyment long into the warm summer nights.
